Yes I was split between Andy and Jessica.
I turned over and listened to it on 5Live. On there it was a sports programme, not a personality one. And far better for it.
Had I voted (I believe that to be grammatically correct) I'd have picked Matt Whitlock. He broke through in a sport the British have rarely achieved in.
PersonaIity doesn't come into it - sureIy its done on achievements. Didn't see it though so don't know who eIse was in it.
Is there any point having a vote if it's purely achievements though?
How can most of them get their personalities over to the public though, pixie?
It must include personality if it's a public vote? Not just achievements. I think Andy just doesn't have one, so it doesn't show.
Maybe the BBC should just change the title to BBC Sports Person Of The Year and we would avoid this wrangling over how much personality any sports person has?
Yes..
Just put the "achievements" into a computer. Would save a lot of time :-)
Is it not "personality" as in a celebrity or a well-known person rather than someone's character?
He doesn't have the voice that matches his personality. Imo he does have a pretty decent one -- passionate on court and funny off it.
Every one who knows Andy has said he is a great person. He, himself, admitted that he has a boring voice and doesn't appear cheerful. What is he supposed to do, go on court telling jokes?

"Is it not "personality" as in a celebrity or a well-known person rather than someone's character? "

Yes, it is, but as most people don't seem to be able to grasp that fact perhaps "Sportsperson of the Year" would be better
Here are the voting figures.

Andy Murray 361,446

Kevin Sinfield 278,353

Jessica Ennis-Hill 79,898

Tyson Fury 72,330

Lewis Hamilton 48,379

Chris Froome 39,007

Mo Farah 31,311

Max Whitlock 25,925

Greg Rutherford 23,492

Lizzie Armitstead 22,356

Adam Peaty 13,738

Lucy Bronze 13,236.

I'm surprised Kevin Sinfield had so many votes. I'd never heard of him before.
Big deal.

And there you go ...
It really wouldn't matter what the winner brought to the stage, the combined power of Lineker, Logan and Balding as atmosphere hoovers could not be overcome.
I'm a little bit gutted that it's not Jessica, but well done Andy.
