I flicked over at one point with the sound down and thought Claire Balding was looking rough. Took a few minutes to realise it was Eddie Izzard.

That was Eddie Izzard? ... I thought it was Angela Merkel
Well done Andy... Who?

I sure he's a great laugh and has a cracking personality.
oh good
excellent
at least it is not Lord Coe
Being a Rugby League fan, I HAD to vote for Kevin Sinfield, with Leeds Rhinos winning the domestic treble - League Leaders Shield, Challange Cup and the Super League Grand Final.
Well done my son - we sweaties (!!) are proud of you.
Yes but Murray won a Grand Slam event in 2013 Stephen.
"I think too many voters have no idea about the other contenders, just their own personal favourite"
ummmm, isnt that what a public vote is about ... you vote for your favourite?
first Davis Cup win in 80 years, was it?
Didn't he get a team reward for that?
But if he wasn't there would it of happened? Could also be said of the the Rugby League chap who I hadn't heard of but seemed like a very nice chap.
I don't begrudge the man but seriously Tennis com'on
Wayne Rooney beating Sir Bobby Charlton's England scoring record much more important and he has marginaly a better personality than that cardboard cut-out. And that wasn't even in the running.

Bunch of chelsea sniffing flowers at the beeb!
How many ABers can honstly say they have heard of half the contestants ... I wouldn't vote for a favourite (Jessica Ennis-Hill would have got my vote if that was the case) I look at what they have achieved and take that into consideration.
but wasn't he also the only individual who didn't lose a match? Not sure as I don't follow it closely, but the team sounded close to being a one-man band.
Please don't start me on that waste of meat pies Rooney, Arky ... He's past it and has been for quite a while.
but the team sounded close to being a one-man band.

So they should not have won the 'team' award then?
// (Jessica Ennis-Hill would have got my vote if that was the case) //

if that were the case
that were the case

should people who cant write proper even be allowed to vote... ?
I do feel that if Andy came out in top hat and tails did a tap dancing routine, then sung an aria from Madame Butterfly, juggled 20 tennis balls then swallowed a sword you'd still be disappointed!
As a Sweaty sock I am proud of the guy!
Talbot He's past it and has been for quite a while.
Yes that's why he should have being recognised for his achievement.
Congratulations to Andy Murray! I didn't vote for him this time, or indeed anyone else -- did in 2013, though, when he also won. I guess he's more popular than some give him credit for, although that said I would have liked to have seen Jess Ennis-Hill win it this time round.
'cant' ?
