search engine submission

We have just set up our own website. However can anyone tell us the best (and quickest!) way to submit to the various search engines please. Preferably not a download!

Google will find your site without you needing to submit it. Just make sure words you think people will type in to find your site (keywords) are well placed throughout the text on your pages (preferably have them near the top)

Having other sites linking to yours also helps to achieve a good ranking.
