Every time she gets interviewed she makes out that swimming is the hardest sport ever. She seems to be a bit full of herself and I think that spending a while in her company would be rather irritating.
What do you think?
What's this 'full of herself' nonsense? She comes across as a modest girl. Don't think that she was ever ready for being treated like a national heroine. She was unknown at Beijing and 'came from nowhere' for most people. Tonight there was a large crowd outside the TV studio just because she was inside! She's coped pretty well.
I think Becky Adlington is brilliant. Unfortunately she didn't swim her best time tonight (if she had she'd have won) and I thought she was very gracious, and positive about the future of swimming, in her interviews.
I think she's done very well, she's a great ambassador for British Sport and she's also the sort of person the girls ought to use as a role model instead of these plastic, airbrushed phoneys that they aspire to be like
Totally agree nungate! I felt really sorry for Becky tonight, she was under SO much pressure to win, it must have been really hard for her. How can they say "disappointing" - she won a medal and the country should be proud of her, we certainly are here in the East Midlands where she comes from!
