Does anyone know anything about you tube and it's workings.

I have received an email which Outlook has treat as spam, purportedly from service@youtube telling me that my video has been approved.

I don't have a you tube account...............

That is a spam email They are hoping that their emails reach someone who does have a You Tube account and are foolish enough to follow the link int the email - thus with the spammers ending up with the login details of their victim.

I get them as well - I don't have a You Tube account linked to my email address - I do have a work You Tube account.

The golden rule is NEVER click on a link in an email to take you to your account with a bank or other website. ALWAYS go to your bank or the other website directly and log in that way.

Do you have a Google email account as the two are linked. If not and you don't have a Youtube account and therefore haven't uploaded a video it's safe to assume the email is spam innit ;-p

Thanks guys I'll just delete it..............I don't have a Google mail account. I was just worried that somehow, someone had set up an account with my details. I had to change my passwords last year as someone hacked my FB account.
