Can anyone tell me the 'default' colour of laser.....-Is it White or green?

Incidently...
The lasers that most people have in their homes are in optical drives and the difference between the main types of optical drive is the wavelength of he laser used, the smaller the wavelength the smaller the "pits" in the disc that can be read which results in more data being stored on a disc of the same area...
CD use 780nm lasers so near infrared and a pit size of about 13um
DVDs use 650nm lasers, so visible red
Blu rays use 405nm lasers, so violet/near ultraviolet (hence the blu in the name)
