What's your View to Royal Wootton Bassett

The Queen is absolutely right to give the town of Wootton Bassett this title as an expression of their observance and respect for the returning dead from Afghanistan and Iraq.

Agree. I believe the local RAF base is closing. Will the new name make up for the loss of civilian jobs there?

I think it is a fitting accolade but I do remember some time back, the lovely people of WB were happy to be just plain WB, without the frills

An overwhelming vote for....I wasn't aware that the RAF base is clothing and I must say that seems a bit of a kick in the teeth for the town, especially as to the civilian staff on the base and those businesses who rely on the air force personnel for a good chunk of their revenue/income.

yes i agree. fully deserved. would have liked to see some of our mps also paying respect in some way that did not mean they could smirk at their "good deed"

this town deserves Royal recogonition, they are good folk who live there I am not sure I could, their respect for our returning soldiers is to be admired.
