Salad cream. Mayo makes me feel sick about an hour later, and not the normal ' OMG I"m gonna throw up ' sick, the horrible queasy travel-sicky kind that just lingers. Yuk !!!!
Home made mayo every time, then you know what's in it. Last time I looked at the ingredients on a salad cream bottle was shocked by the number of E-Numbers.
Salad cream on a cheese and onion sandwich (ideally with a few S&V crisps inside)
Mayo to dress tuna & pasta salad/Waldorf salad or on a BLT
Marie rose on a prawn salad/sandwich
On a green salad I prefer vinaigrette/French dressing and sometimes a blue cheese dressing.
Last year I worked with a chef who was demonstrating a retro dish. He made salad cream using mashed, cooked egg yolk, malt vinegar and some double cream. When he told me the recipe I just looked at him and raised an eyebrow, giving him the benefit of the doubt I tried it after the demo. It was beyond disgusting.
