I can see WBA's point, if only 100 asylum seekers apply to Sweden and 10,000 apply here the proportionate refusals are irrelevant.
However, I see from these stats that in Q4 2009 just over 6000 applied here compared with just over 7000 in Sweden so they are getting more asylum seekers in real terms and much more per head of population than UK.
As some others have pointed out, while the number of rejections is important, what's much, much more important is the number of rejected applicants who are returned to their country of origin.
It really doesn't matter what percentage are 'rejected' on paper – what is extremely important is how many of those rejected individuals are returned to their country of origin.
Until someone can show those figures, the 'rejection' percentages are a moot point.
I wquld think Britain comes top when it comes to the illegals because we let them get away with it. If they are sick they don't need to register just pop down the A&E or a walk in centre, no questions asked.
If they need money just get a job in the black economy where cheap labour is called for and no P45 to worry about.
Housing is readily available as they can squat 10 to a room in a council house given to a past immigrant.
Our government cannot admit to anything that has taken place in the past as it ruins their reputation and woukd rather keep quiet about it.
Forget statistics you only have to look around you to see the situation.
