Hello All. I want to try my hand at poaching a whole chicken,"supermarket bought" but am not sure how to go about it.....any help would be much appreciated.Thanks.S.O.G.
For a casserole (poaching). Cut chicken into 6 joint pieces. Place in oven bowl and fry to seal meat. Add sliced onion, tin of plum tomatos, any fresh root veg and potatoes. 1 pkt of veg soup & chicken stock cube. Cover with boiled water and place in gas oven 4 for 3 hours. With lid on dish. If using frozen veg add them an hour before serving. Mash some potatoes to thicken the liquid.
