I have just bought an astra coupe bertone (soft top) and the rear view is very poor when reversing. Really think that putting sensors on would save me money on scratched paintwork in the long run.
Do you know if it is possible to modify a car to include this and how much i would be looking at?
Cheapest option about 99 - this sensor goes around the number plate and wires into your reversing lights and emits a beep beep noise.
Retro fit Vauxhall ones are available at about 300 - phone oyur dealer for a price. Or have a look in the yellow pages and phone a couple of auto electricians - they will be able to give you a proce too - but prob the same as 200-300
I bought a four sensor set from Ebay for 9 plus 4.99 postage.
needs 4 small holes in rear bumper and fitting a small box inside the boot. 2 wires to reverse lights. very easy.
The sensors can be painted to suit the bumper.
There seems to be loads on ebay and a lot cheaper than when I bought one a couple of years ago. Google reverse parking sensors and check out the results.
Has anyone considered the cost free option ?
Learn to park properly, like everyone had to before sensors were fitted to cars.
I have been driving(and parking) a large variety of sometimes large vehicles for over 25 years and have NEVER hit or scraped another vehicle, lamppost, or any other obstruction -you know why ?
Because I learnt to drive in my dad's car, and he made damn sure I learnt how to manoeuvre it properly, on pain of death, or worse !
