How quick are so many of us in the West to judge people in war torn countries when they make decisions out of desperation so they can save the lives of those they love? Perhaps it's because we've never had to face a situation where we are staring hardship in the eyes - until the last few days which have passed that is.
Next time you empty shelves in supermarkets, compete for the last toilet roll, rush to get some extra porridge, and argue with each-other over how many packs of Pasta and Bolognese each customer should be allowed.... think about those Syrian mothers trying to migrate whilst clutching on to their babies, those fathers in Burma trying to pass borders trying to escape being burnt alive, and those refugees walking for hundreds of miles trying to escape tyrants. Maybe... just maybe you'll understand a fraction of what they are going through.
