Never heard of the new moon through glass Prudie and I thought it was a red car, not green,:0)
I'm not superstitious. I'm just blummin pleased it is Friday.

I always say Hello to a magpie though and ask him how is lovely wife is today. Which is unfortunate as there seems to be one every 3 feet round here.
There's another one due in December.
New moon through glass is an old superstition. Green cars being unlucky I inherited from my mother but it's been discussed on here in the past and lots on the internet. Not come across red cars being unlucky. It's all rubbish anyway but why tempt fate :-)

I must admit I do the Magpie 'thingy' I think it's the fault of the kids TV show Magpie, :0/
I live in a sheltered housing complex. The flats are numbered 1 - 30 but there is no number 13.

Indeed. There is always at least one Friday 13th in any year, very often two and occasionally three. When January 1st is a Thursday and the year is a non-leap year then February, March and November wil have a Friday 13th. If a leap year begins on a Sunday then January, April and july will have a Friday 13th.
I used to bet on Triskaidekophobia? as well.

Does the myth have something to do with the last supper ?

Don't bother starting a thread today in the hope of getting a 'Black Cat' Badge, I've been starting threads on Fri. 13th for a long time, it just doesn't happen.
Baz it means never cross someone else going up or down the stairs in an opposite direction to you. Either wait at the top or bottom for the other person to complete. I've not made it up:-

"Superstitious folk believe that passing others on the stairs brings bad luck, citing biblical passages where angels passed one another in the opposite direction while traveling on a ladder [source: Webster]. This may be as good a reason as any to avoid passing on stairs, but if you don't consider yourself superstitious, consider this: Maybe passing on the stairs brings bad luck simply because you're attempting to pass someone in close quarters, and one of you could trip or fall as a result. Better just wait until the other person exits the staircase before making your move"
