I have lived in Saudi Arabia , there is no way you would get entry with a passport that did not state your gender. Same for Egypt, Bahrain and Kenya where I have also traveled. There are many places inthe world where gender is considered vitally important. If we issued gender free passports large areas of the world would be closed to UK citizens.

ANOTHEOLDGIT, I cannot answer for those who choose not to disclose their gender in the same way that I cannot give an answer as to why you have always refused to give your age.

As I have already said, when folk talk about what like things were when growing up for example, it is helpful to know when that was so that others may know if they were of a similar age during those particular years and can confirm or offer differing experiences
For a recent question I did a bit of research into 'Transgender Identities' and to my astonishment found there are currently 840 different 'Types' of Transgender people each of which has it's own 'pride flag'.
I'll try and find the link.
Not long back I was passing through an arab airport and noticed that women being frisked by women received a very subtle touch on an area which would let the frisker know if the "friskee" was not a woman. Presumably ( at least at arab airports) it really Really matters if the person under the burka is male. Presumably the only motive for a man being dressed in a burka Must be nefarious.
10 Clarion - Q. What is your name, A. Shirley Crabtree
Q. Male or Female a. Male and I used to be a wrestler.

Same for Marion Morrison (John Wayne).

My dentist is called "Ansu". Would you care to guess a gender?

Names do not always point to an obvious gender.
Shapes might
Security is paramount. Foibles and sensitivities, for whatever reason, shouldn't be a consideration.
Dead right Naomi - you want to enter our country you obey our rules.
Let's take it to the logical conclusion and decide that none of it's relevant. Passports could be replaced with a blank piece of paper and it would save on the printing costs.
Genius as ever!

I have stated my age on numerous occasions.

But seeing you are so interested in personal details, perhaps it would also be helpful if an AB's minority group was also disclosed?

Why should anyone on here disclose their age ??
ANOTHEOLDGIT if you have stated your age on numerous occasions, a few links would be helpful...
