I have a Dyson, a smallish cylinder one, I think it might be called City. It does very well at sucking up the finer dust particles but I cannot get it to remove hairs or bigger bits of 'dust' from my carpets. I have been thinking for some time about buying a new brush/head attachment because the one it came with is obviously not very good. It is noisy. It can be a bit messy when emptying the dust container if you are not careful, sometimes more so than with the old-style dust bags. My old cleaner was on the whole much better. Unfortunately some dust got into the motor I think the last time I used that (when I removed the full dust bag) so it needs repairing but when I asked one particular workman he claimed it would cost more than it was worth. Any thoughts/ideas on that? Overall on the subject of Dyson cleaners I think many of us have fallen for the hype and been disappointed.
