The keys on my laptop keyboard are coming off one by one. The 2 fell off last week, the V has been wonky for ages (comes off if you catch it the wrong way), now the E is barely attached. I can still use the keys (obviously) but I'm ending up with more and more gaps.
Can a PC repair place replace the keyboard? How much is it likely to cost?
Some laptop keyboards are easy to obtain and might cost around 40. Others are extremely difficult to get hold of and can cost around 90. On top of that you've got labour charges. A typical charge might be around 45.
The only way you'll get a really accurate figure is to phone round several different companies. Google 'laptop repairs' as your starting point.
If you go onto the Gateway website, http://uk.gateway.com/support/contacts.html - follow the "Click Here" to email technical support, fill in your info and just ask them how / where you can get a replacement keyboard.
If anyone can get you the answer you need, it'll be the company themselves.
