Will anyone be voting on July 4th for the best of a bad lot rather than someone they actually support?

> But voting anti-Tory will result in Starmer & Co at the helm

Yep.  Even if I voted Lib Dem because they the candidate most likely to beat the Tories.  The idea of the Tories still being in power on July 5 is anathema, given what they've done. Anything but that ...

YMB has obviously not voted Tory (check his avatar), I haven't spoilt my ballot (not that it's ever done any good in the past), so what can I do that's effective ... and that's where https://tactical.vote/ helped.  BTW, I voted last week ...

I get the feeling that the expression 'You ain't seen nothing yet' will really come into its own if Labour get to hold the reins.  I honestly find the prospect frightening.  Poor us.

And continuing with the Tories will give us stability and competence?

The younger generations need to learn what living under a proper Labour Government is like Naomi.

And this time with the Conservative Party not being Conservative no I didnt vote for them.  Not that it will make much difference, but at least I have registered my disdain.

Perhaps, drmorgans, but what it won't give us is what Labour pretend to be offering.  Hang on to your hat!

YMB, it won't be a proper Labour government.  Proper Labour governments are a thing of the past.

It's dangerous for any party to have a huge majority.

It wouldn't be if they were competent & did the right things. Unfortunately we are stuck with the present political class...

Hopkirk 16.22 Yes Boris proved that. Just look how he destroyed Britain .

i think the country was better 14 years ago than it is now. don't be fooled by scaremongering about labour governments... the last 14 years have been truly dreadful.

The last real Labour government was 45 years ago. I think the older ones among us are about to be reminded what "truly dreadful" is. The youngsters? well, be careful what you wish for.

Well there's always the upside of a saviour riding to the rescue on a white charger when the experiment fails, Tora.

Problem is that this time there's nowt to sell off for bribes and far fewer police to militarise and unleash on the workers.

I know TTTs point has been rubbished in the past, but given TBs Govt was more right wing than the current Tory Govt, he's completely correct.

yeah yeah we've heard it all before. reds under the bed and all that. you can't scaremonger with jim callaghan's government and the winter of discontent forever. it's  just a smokescreen to distract from the failure of your beloved tories.

Some people are not too good at history.

Still to a Commie labour are probably right wing, thats why they say REfrom is FAR right!

17:08,not sure what you are getting at. Are you denying that the late 70s was that bad or are you saying the labour we are about to elect won't be that bad?

the second one.

I thought you didn't wish to speak with me youngmafbog? do make up your mind!

17:19 so you accept how terrible the last real labour government was, yet you are happy to risk that again! right oh!

Oh dear! They don't like it up 'em!

Couldn't you at least try to be civil? It's what we need when times are difficult.
