watch Channel 4 News, it is better and more informative, and I don't even notice the colour of the readers. Half of the BBC News are now their own 'adverts' for forthcoming programmes.

I don't care who reads the news so long as they do it coherently. I wonder how your unpleasantness relating to those from another part of the world sits with your supposed christianity.....we are all descended from foreigners who were not from this tiny part of the world.... who brought their religions from the parts of the world they came from.....Love thy heighbour as thyself...unless...............fill in the blank space

I don't know about news reporters but I have noticed that in most adverts now you seem to have one of everything shoved in the ad. One gay couple, one mixed race couple, a disabled person and to top it off the other night a down syndrome child. I am just waiting for a transgender child to be next , I don't have any axe to grind about any of these groups but really , all in one advert !

I think that Theland has a point, it is not that black newsreaders aren't acceptable, it is this diversity exercise that is constantly being thrust before our very eyes.

We now get it in Films, TV soaps, Adverts etc etc. It all started when someone complained that there wasn't enough black actors in Midsomers Murders, which took place in quaint English villages, not the typical places where one might see black persons.

And if we are talking 'diversity' why does it mainly include black persons, not very often we see Chinese newscasters, or very few Indians now do we?
