Welcome to this first week in the reign of Lady Lysander, who will appear in person tomorrow! After an initial wave of apprehension, Lysander quickly relented and has taken on the task of setting the MM Links with great gusto. No-one has worked harder to get things right. It's a brand new game, so everybody starts off equally with everything to play for! The posting should open at 8.45am and the four words to be linked should be declared at 9.00am tomorrow, when MM Links kicks off in earnest.
Of course, it is also a brand new start for the international version of this same game is called KM Links and kicks off at the unearthly hour of about 06.30am! Keep your eyes open for seekeerz from Oz, who collates the entries and keeps score. Why not chance your arm at both Link Games?
I'm in a rush to get out, so I'll keep it brief. Tonight is Quiz Night at the Cricket Club and I'll be taking part as a punter, but I'll be reading your comments when I return. Look after yourselves and "Happy Linking"!
Hi, crofter. Your opposition at the Cricket Club have no chance! You'll slay 'em.
To the revellers in the shubbery, enjoy yourselves (but not too much). Again, I cannot be with you - still doing the Boy Scout act down here in darkest Devon.
I will try to get on to register my link guesses, but unless I can do better than last month, I might as well not bother.
Have fun.
Hi Strix and Aq, just stick a pin for the horse strix, hey if we could actually stick it in the horse it may run faster (only joking would not hurt a horse)
shall be in a sweepstake as I am at work tomorrow and they normally do one I always pick a 3 legged one
Sarumite is the man to ask if he pops in later
jan
Hi all!
x-ray...Mr Pauline..aka Reg has put my bet on for me...I picked Idle Talk!!...and another that was suggested by a so called friend called Mazie...would be suitable for me...I wonder if you can guess which one??
Jan, you are quite right - the G.N. is a complete lottery for the simple reason that good horses are too often brought down by bad ones. However if you are prepared to look at past records, over the last 20 years, you will see that the majority of winners their weight has been between 10st and 10st 11. No sort of guarantee - but a guide.
The G.N. is nothing like as tough as it use to be (read Nimrod about the "Great National").
Today's Topham Trophy was an awful warning of what could happen tomorrown.
I hope it avoids that level of carnage.
hey we could start a new comp guess the words that we are going to guess the links to tomorrow
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it could be never ending.
we are all very well behaved tonight
where is everyone????
Good advice centrino!...one of my daughters usually wins something each year...and she just literally sticks her pen n the paper at random in the morning!!...best way I suppose.
I think we are going to have to throw a part next week Jan..they'll all come then!
Hi rogerr!...my daughter has it...but so far she's been alright.
Had men round pruning trees in back garden today!!...was whacking it watching them swinging from ropes up and down!!...mind you neither of them were like Tarzan!!
