I rarely begin a thread these days and I very rarely get angry enough to hurt someone badly. I could hurt this chap.

I hope enough folk see his pictures to be able to identify him.

I'd probably think about doing something nasty to him for all of a five minute knee jerk reaction but that's about it. I hope he understands how incensed people are because of his actions and the reasons why it has made the news.

Ah yes, Zebo - I note that "Severe Learning Disabilities" has already been conveniently proferred as an excuse.

Hmmm - so let's have the person who should have been providing 24hr support (and monitoring and keeping him safe) in the dock too, for dereliction of duty of care - whether it be a family member or a pen-pushing, museli-knitting social worker.

Unless (as I suspect) we are merely hearing the first whines of the apologists - because it can never be the actual fault of the perpetrator - it must be "society's fault" ...
Just blame the parents.
"museli" - oops - other (correctly spelled) Swiss Cereal Breakfasts are available for knitting purposes ...
I couldn’t physically / intentionally harm this person. What he did was dreadful, no one would argue with that. I wonder if in fact he even knew what he was vandalising, ie war memorial. ?
Probably not, Anne.

@1949,
I could, and would, make no mistake.

Whilst service personnel may not have fought and died to allow the bewildered to vandalise memorials or anything else, neither did they fight and die to bring vigilante justice to the fore.

It seems awfully easy to dial it up to 11 these days, some might say it's a new sport, trying to outdo each other.

Let the law take its course or bin the lot and the witchfinders can return to mete out their justice.
No you wouldn't, Baldric.
"Let the law take its course"

Yep and for those who feel so strongly at a perceived lack of justice they can take up their pens and write to their MP's peut-etre.

Absolutely spot on, Tigger. How many times has every one of us said...Oh I could kill him/her. We're not going to but in that moment that is what we say.....and for a very short time how we feel. It's being human.

You have no idea ummm.
I agree with Douglas.
Oh I do, Baldric.
Daft thing is we all agree that the act was clearly wrong.

Bcos its drilled down further into degrees of 'wrongness' thats when the cracks appear i.e differing views as to how the issue shud be dealt with.

:o)
"We're not going to but in that moment that is what we say.....and for a very short time how we feel."

Does that mean that 'I could hurt this chap' is now off the table?

I thort that Doug,a slight descent from the ladder....
What angers me, almost as much as the mindless act itself, is the fact that we are in the 21st Century, but CCTV is seemingly still unable to produce an image which could distinguish the offender. Looking at the image the police produced, this offender could equally be Worzel Gummidge, Rod Stewart or Ellen deGeneres. Shameful.
For all you abers who wished physical harm on this thug, it would seem baldric is the hardest .!,!, lol.
