I agree with the majority of responders on here, it makes for a more relaxed Police presence and means Officers are still close at hand should they be needed.

It would be nice if as well as having a go at both the Police and those of us who can see this as lighthearted fun that you'd also ask some posters to refrain from posting bogus videos and photos before they've checked their validity more carefully.

(Apologies re forgetting 'Pet' is probably local to V_E)
Eddie, are you fantasising again?
Mamyalynne, //It would be nice if as well as having a go at both the Police and those of us who can see this as lighthearted fun that you'd also ask some posters to refrain from posting bogus videos and photos before they've checked their validity more carefully. //

What's that all about?
Webbo posted a video of what he described as an example of a Police Officer having fun and 'Daggering' women.

That man (not an officer) was arrested.
do you have proof of that ^

/// For heaven’s sake! They’re not getting into full ‘Strictly’ mode. They’re having a little jig around to the music and interacting with the public. ///

Neighbour calls police over late night load music coming from a house who are having a party, only to find when the police arrive they are seen having a little jig amongst the guests.

Just interacting with the public, you understand?
Pet= Peter.
Webbo, you were the person who posted the video - do you have proof of th which Station the Officer was from and what action was taken by his superiors?
Is 'amoung' on the word list, Eddie?
^ Lol. well spoted.

You really are stretching now!

If you can find a comparison between officers called to investigate an potentially criminal incident, and fooling around, and officers observing a public event, and maybe joining in festivities for a few minutes, then you have a seriously vivid (and malfunctioning!) imagination.
aog, your silly post at 13:08 Sun is not worthy of a considered response.
It's all getting a bit desperate isn't it?

// do we want a military police force //

Not such a bad idea, at least they would get the job done.
Plus, the added benefit - they can dance in good time.

Didn't stop the likes of you from responding in your usual rude way though did it?
aog, it's not my fault that your analogy is nonsense. You wrote it. Incidentally, who are the likes of me?

I would think that this crazy yearly event qualifies as a criminal incident, the first day of this event has so far seen 97 arrests and 11 officers hurt with yet another day to go.

So what crime has the event committed?

An event in it's self can't commit a crime, but going on it's past history, if this event had been banned from taking place, there would have been no arrests and 11 police officers not hurt.
