Is she not always a tad self-indulgent, chirpy? Thought that was part of her appeal, that she sings what she likes and if you like it, you like it.......
Did you go to the concert or was it on telly?
I enjoyed the gig, i actually really like it when she just sits at the Piano and sings unaccompanied, it really shows off her voice and the power she has. I enjoyed her newer songs, I thought her trumpet playing friend was very good!
Yes she is indulgent and quite possibly crackers but arent all Diva's like this now!
I thought LGG was just brilliant. I'm not a particular fan and only happened across the programme whilst channel hopping - but I hopped no further! Her voice is just incredible, an excellent pianist - and her jazz stuff was fantastic and that trumpeter really knocked me out! I've been converted - knocks Madonna into a cocked hat (whatever that means...!) even when she was at her peak.
I watched it on TV, and recorded it hoping I'd want to watch it again and again. The BBC must have been having kittens when she was 35 minutes late getting on stage. She is clearly very Madonna influenced, but I agree a much better artist. And yes her voice is fab.
I think i have managed to avoid actually hearing her on the telly and radio in the past, though have heard a lot of bad cover versions on "talent" shows, so i made an effort to watch list night to see what the hype was all about.
I was impressed. Clearly a very talented performer, singer and songwriter. Loved the jazzy, cuban/latin feel and the influences from Madonna to elton john are clear to see.
Totally agree Richard.
I have found quite a few clips of her performing just with a piano or keyboard on Youtube and i have to say i was very impressed, this is one very talented singer/songswriter and she much more than just a one trick pop diva although she does that very well too!
