I've not watched it yet, waiting for Nibs to get home tomorrow. I remember going to see BC in concert in Glasgow in about 1972...... the year of the Banana Boots.
I'm not a fan of the Big Yin, but the programme was good.
I think WDYTYA has a flaw in that it finds an entertaining bit of tree and makes a good programme out of it. But they tend to miss the bit of tree that connects to the present.
The Mary Berry one suffered from that. It dwelt on the story of a previous Mary Berry's mother and siblings being put in the poor house to die, but never explained how the family became wealthy so that she was brought up on a large farm.
I agree with Gromet. The Sheridan Smith episode was the same - it focused on one ancestor who was a musician and the programme has become more of a story about one person. I don`t really watch it anymore for that reason.
