i got unfairly dismissed , then had an appeal over 3 weeks ago but still havent been given an answer to the appeal, even though they said at the appeal they couldent come to an answer and would be in touch by post,

but if it was so straight forward why did they not tell me on the day
First things first. You were dismissed (not unfairly dismissed) and you are now alleging your dismissal was unfair.
Was this for gross misconduct or misconduct or some other reason?

Whether in your view it was straightforward or not, it is important that the company follows a set process for the appeal - indeed if it doesn't follow such a process it only strengthens your case for a future successful claim at an Employment Tribunal.

please check my other question this wiil prob shed more light
tbh it dosent shed more ight - just confused me more. you say its "so straight forward" but clearly it isn't because they need time to reach a decision - perhaps they are getting more info?

but on the policy that i have from my employer it states that if they dont give me an answer on the day, it should be given to me within a week, are they allowed to breach there own rules
