How did that man get on to this thread? I hope you are learning something redman - which will enable at least one man (you) to understand how we poor ladies feel. My husband was very sympathetic with me and always tried to help. He would get a cold wet flannel for me, not that it worked, but he was trying to be helpful. It can be quite distressing sometimes.
Have you noticed the remedies for hot flushes that have appeared down the right hand side of this thread? Wonder if one of them might work. Think I will have a look.
hahaha Redman - I was only joking, Mr. Den knows better than to cross a menopausal woman - he has a good memory of his dinner getting thrown at him when I had PMT and it going through the kitchen window and landing in the garden.....(:o)
redman......don't pander to these women........menopausal hot flushes????....my @rse.............it's all in the mind.(sqad can't get tongue out of cheek)
I wish it was sqad. But waking up from a deep sleep to find you are perspiring profusely is not pleasant and since my brain was not active at the time I can't see how it could be all in the mind. When I saw your name, I felt sure you would have a cure. I am very disappointed.
Thats one thing I enjoy about being a bit older, I'm through the menopause, I had two years of pure hell then I went on HRT, that transformed my life. I became a woman again instead of a steam machine, calm & cool nights, no hot flushes, ahhh!. after all why should women have 10 years of hell. Whats good enough for the Queen is good enough for me.
I haven't reached 'that age' yet (although I'm expecting it to strike at any time). I don't have hot flushes (apart from during really good sex, which is rare these days....) but I do have night sweats, and have had on & off for years.
Bring on the HRT I say - although obviously I will try natural remedies first. But eating raw sage? Don't think I'd fancy that.
so if you start taking hrt, do you continue taking it forever? if/when you stop taking it do the hot flushes, etc., start again? never did quite understand all about hrt as i did menopause 'cold turkey' - ha, that's an oxymoron :o)
